Just A Few Of Our Presentation Topics
ARM INJURY PREVENTION
We are passionate about preventing throwing injuries. We will present on shoulder and elbow anatomy, common throwing injuries, ways to prevent the injuries we discuss, and strategies for the parent, player and coach to improve compliance with injury prevention exercises and protocols.
ADVANCED PITCHING FUNDAMENTALS
The most important aspects of pitching can be broken down simply - the things pro pitchers do are not that different than everyone else. We will discuss the most important teaching points in mechanics, throwing programs, pitching drills, warm up plans, bullpen plans, and how to read hitters, sequences pitches and get the most out of a pitcher. Also covered is the role spin plays in determining the quality of a pitch, and how to optimize and teach spin in the fastball, changeup, and breaking ball.
ADVANCED HITTING FUNDAMENTALS
Hitting is hard. It gets harder when hitters get lost in the minutiae. We make it easier by establishing a solid understanding of what makes a "good swing" and the best drills to reinforce good habits. Once we've covered the components of the swing, we look at how to maximize power, time our swing appropriately, hit all pitch types in all parts of the zone, self-diagnosis ourselves when problems arise, and how to establish an approach at the plate that fosters big results on the field.
SOFTBALL OVERHAND THROWING MECHANICS
Overhand throwing in softball is overlooked - few instructors take the time to teach it with the frequency that they do underhand pitching, hitting, and fielding. We have had tremendous success helping girls dramatically increase their throwing velocity, accuracy, while maintaining or improving their quick release. We will share our step-by-step methodology along with drills and practice plans to help build an entire team of strong, accurate throwers.
ADVANCED CATCHING FUNDAMENTALS
In arguably the most demanding position on the field, catchers must be unflappable, both mentally and physically. While exploring the techniques and best drills for the "big three," receiving/framing, blocking, and throw-downs, we will discuss how catchers can influence the outcome of a game with the little things like proper set ups and target-giving, intelligent pitch-calling, situational awareness, solid glove work, and game management.
